Campaign films:
Three short awareness films were prepared on the issues of ‘Trafficking’,
‘Smuggling’, and ‘Poppy Cultivation’ with the help of Murshidabad District Police. The films were
shown to all villagers of Murshidabad District. The purpose of those films was to generate awareness among the mass.
Community Based Coaching:
Change factor has taken an initiative
to start supportive coaching for the children who are first generation learner, economically challenged, and vulnerable to
drop out. The volunteers were selected from the locality who provide backup support to the children five days in a week
in the space provided by the local club. The project is being implemented in a village named Uludanga, Machlandapur, 24 pargana
(N). 50 children are receiving coaching back up support from the centre. (list of children along with their last year’s
performance is attached)
Upcoming programme
Community Clinic
The children of coaching centre will receive healthcare services and supporting medicines
in regular basis. There is a plan to upgrade this support as a community clinic to provide similar services for the disadvantaged
local villagers and slum dwellers. Awareness generation programme on HIV / AIDS, nutrition, health and hygiene etc will also
be conducted through this clinic. Change factor also has a plan to organize monthly
health camps, Immunization camp in this clinic.
Information Kiosk
Information kiosk is a unique concept of social empowerment through which the community will get the
opportunity to access information. The Kiosk will work as a Resource Center for
providing information on Government schemes and services, career counseling, legal advises health and other emergency services.
It will also work as a platform for the self help groups having small enterprises promoting local business at a larger level. The centre will be interlinked with the larger world and through this centre local people will get global
access.
This project will be implemented in Kamarhati Municipal area, in a club premise located at
the three point crossing on Feder
Road, at Rathtala
